Canjica is a traditional delicious dish eaten around the whole country in Brazil. It is specially served during the Festa Junina celebrations in winter. It is very easy to cook and a nice comfort food.

My partner is Brazilian . We have a house in Brazil and regularly eat canjica there. I also have a traditional Brazilian pressure cooker. I tried to cook some canjica recently but when in the pressure cooker it seems to froth up badly and causes the valve to block. I’ve never seen this happen with the canjica we buy when in Brazil. Overall disappointing.
